Industrial Arts’ not-for-profit arm, Steelcase Art Projects, curates a variety of programming on and around the site throughout the year. Corn = Life: The Power of Naming, an installation by artists Ron Benner and Jeff Thomas, is an homage to the 1613 Two Row Treaty between Dutch settlers and the Haudenosaunee. It remains on view in the sculpture garden until December.
Running October 19 to December 15, the group exhibition Face/Waste takes over a semi-demolished industrial unit. Exploring the need to address the waste that we create, honestly, these artists, through their work, will delve deep into the relationship between humans, the material world, and the land. Once the exhibition is complete, the space will be transformed into subsidized artist studios.
